ESD and Third Space Endoscopy workshop: Hands-on training with live porcine models
Athens: 18 and 19 June 2026 Braga: 3 and 4 September 2026 Rotterdam: 12 and 13 November 2026 It is with great pleasure that the ESE – Erasmus School of Endoscopy announce a series of live porcine hands-on ESD and Third Space Endoscopy workshops in the training centers of the Erasmus School of Endoscopy in Rotterdam in the Netherlands, the School of Health Sciences – University of Minho (ECS-UM) in Braga, Portugal and the Experimental-Research Center ELPEN, in Athens, Greece. ESD and Third Space Endoscopy related techniques are increasingly practiced in Europe with a growing need for intensive individual training. We have developed a training program to master these techniques in a realistic setting using a live porcine model. Next to hands-on training, the management of potential complications such as bleedings and perforations will be taught under guidance of an international faculty consisting of renowned experts in the field. We hope that this unique workshop will serve the need for advanced training in this exciting and developing area of interventional endoscopy and look forward to welcoming you in Athens, Braga and Rotterdam! It is with great pleasure that the ESE – Erasmus School of Endoscopy introduces an Endoscopic Suturing hands-on workshop in close cooperation with Olympus Corporation.  TRAINING DESCRIPTION This endoscopic suturing workshop in Gastrointestinal Procedures is a one-day course designed to develop essential endoscopic suturing skills. It combines expert-led lectures  and hands-on training, providing practical guidance for routine clinical practice. Interventional endoscopy is rapidly evolving, and continuous endoscopic suturing (SutuArt) is emerging as an innovative technique for defect closure (for example following ESD), increasingly integrated into advanced endoscopic practice.  PROGRAM DESCRIPTION This training is a specialized, full day training session designed to advance practitioners’ expertise in defect closure techniques. The course structure integrates expert-led discussions, analysis of recorded cases, and practical dry model training sessions. Participants will explore a variety of solutions and options for defect closure, critically assess real-case scenarios, and gain hands-on experience to refine their procedural skills. This program is tailored for healthcare professionals looking to enhance their technical abilities in endoscopic defect management and foster improved patient outcomes. SutuArt endoscopic suturing is a technique requiring two operators working closely together. For this hands-on training we encourage endoscopists to join our course together with an endoscopy nurse.  COURSE DESCRIPTION One-day hands-on course using mechanical training models Limited participation (2 endoscopists per workstation together with endoscopy nurses) One-on-one hands-on instructions and teaching from highly skilled experts in the field  TARGET AUDIENCE & PREREQUISITES Gastrointestinal endoscopists together with their assisting endoscopy nurse performing therapeutic procedures involving gastrointestinal defect closure.  FEE Medical specialist     € 395,00 ex VAT Each medical specialist (interventional endoscopist) can bring one endoscopy nurse to the course to train together. Registration for the nurse is for free. If no nurse is available, one of our trained nurses will be available to assist.
